The third stakeholder conference “THE DANUBE REGION TRANSPORT DAYS 2014” took place on Tuesday, 21 and Wednesday, 22 October 2014 in Ljubljana, Slovenia. vent brought together 220 registered participants - representatives of research community, representatives of business, policy makers and other stakeholders from 14 countries of the Danube Region.

The annual stakeholder conference addressed the implementation of the EU strategy for the Danube Region in the field of transport with following objectives:
 - to provide information on state-of-play implementation process;
 - to share presentations made by stakeholders of all transport modes and exchange the views;
 - to get familiarized with project ideas and projects of particular relevance to the Danube region improvement and development of transport infrastructure and transport services.

Conference participants were informed on the current state of implementation of the Danube strategy and views on development and improvement needs of transport infrastructure and transport services in the Danube region were exchanged. Potential sources for funding of transport projects were presented, representatives of the European Commission and other support institutions provided detailed information about the specific research and development opportunities and tenders to all interested participants. An important part of the conference were targeted project workshops where the participants presented and discussed several different project ideas and form project consortia for the preparation of project applications.
