The University of Wuerzburg and the University of Maribor have been cooperating in the pedagogic and scientific field  for a long time. On the 3rd July 2009, mag. Floriana Harder had a presentation with the title "Modelling the Effects of Road Pricing in Wuerzburg" within the framework of the Socrates Erasmus program. Afterwards, prof. dr. Konrad Schliephacke was kind enough to present the University of Wuerzburg to Slovenian students and invited them to spend a semester or two at their University as exchange students.

This has been professor Schliephacke's last formal visit at the University as he is about to retire at the end of the academic year. At this occassion, the dean of the Faculty of Civil Engineering at the University of Maribor prof. dr. Ludvik Trauner and dr. Stane Božičnik, from the same faculty, thanked the professor for his endeavours to foster the collaboration between the two universities and expressed their sincere wish that this would not mean the end of collaboration between the universities, but the beginig of a new, fruitful, period of collaboration.
