The staff of the Centre for Mobility Research

The staff of the Centre for Mobility Research specialize in different disciplines (civil, transport, mechanical engineering, geography experts). They work on providing a broader, more comprehensive view upon the challenges of modern mobility. Taking into account  theoretical knowledge and good practice in the field of people's mobility and transport of goods, different models are developed and implemented.

The staff of the Centre for Mobility Research give priority to environmentally friendly transport modes, not only within the research but also in their private lives. MORE

CV: He is Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Civil Engineering at the University in Maribor, specializing in the fields of Transportation Planning and Transportation Informatics. He was project manager of several national projects (Informatisation of the PT in Slovenia, Pricing and Financing of the Public Transportation System: Analysis, best practice, subsidies..., National standards and a national timetable for PT, External costs of transport; to mention the most relevant), and a partner in several European projects (PORTAL, ALP_NET, PROCEED, MAX) etc. He is Head of the organisational unit the Centre for Mobility Studies at the University of Maribor and member of several professional bodies.

CV: He has been employed at the Faculty of Civil Engineering since 1994 and has worked on several national and international projects within the area of transportation planning and transportation technology. His fields of specialization are capacity of public transport,  quality assessment and cableway transport. He is lecturer for transportation engineering at the University of Maribor, Faculty of Civil Engineering. Currently he is involed in two national projects: Harmonization of technical standards for cableway transport and Quality management in public transport.

CV: His present position is research assistant for mobility management and transport technique. He has international experience, having spent a year at the Technical University of Graz and TU Dresden. He worked on international projects (Interreg: Infrastructure development opportunities for the triangle Hungary, Slovenia, Austria, and 6. EU framework: PROCEED) and national projects (Developmental possibilities for high speed railway  in Slovenia, International door to door information system Maribor-Graz).

Beno Mesarec,

CV: Since 2002, he has been a teaching and research assistant at the Faculty of Civil Engineering. His major qualifications are transport modelling and transport planning. He has specific experience in international projects: Mutual validity of tickets for public transportation (PHARE – CBC); PORTAL; ALP-NET (5th framework; thematic network on alpine crossing); REDECON (Interreg); TREMOVE (Implementation of the TREMOVE transport model in Slovenia) and national projects: Analysis of databases, sources and methodologies for collecting traffic data in Slovenia (contracted by the Ministry of Transport) and Analysis of transport external costs in Slovenia (contracted by the Ministry of the Environment and Energy, Ministry of Transport, and Ministry of Education, Science and Sport of the Republic of Slovenia).

CV: He is research associate at the Urban Planning Institute of Slovenia (UIRS) and external expert at the Faculty of Civil Engineering, University of Maribor. Before taking up employment at the UIRS, he was higher advisor for transport infrastructure at the Ministry of Environment and Spatial Planning. The scope of his work is transport and spatial planning; currently he is mainly engaged in the integration of transport and spatial planning, urban transport strategies and mobility management.
